Ramadan budget: preparing the month without going into debt
AmanaFi team · Updated · 1 min read
Ramadan is often a month when food spending rises. Preparing it several months ahead, by setting aside money each month, avoids having to borrow and leaves room for generosity.
Figure the items
With the family, list what the month usually costs.
- Iftar and suhoor food.
- Dates, staples and stocks.
- Invitations and shared meals.
- Sadaqah and zakat al-fitr.
- Eid clothes to come.
Provision from the months before
Divide the planned total by the number of months left and set that sum aside. For 1,500 DH and five months, that is 300 DH a month. Fictional figures, to adapt to your household. AmanaFi offers the event with an indicative date and an editable amount.
Spend thoughtfully
Plan the week's menus, avoid excess purchases that end up thrown away, and favour seasonal products. Less waste frees money for sadaqah and solidarity.
Frequently asked
How much should I plan for Ramadan?
It depends on household size and habits. Start from what you actually spent last year, adjust it and add a reasonable margin.
